Brain Games
by Ivy Liu

Jason Silva and experts on the show unlock the wonders and science behind the brain.

The human brain is capable of doing some extraordinary things. For example, it can solve complex problems and remember vast amounts of information. However, it can also fool you into thinking you saw something that wasn't actually there, like a ghost. On a brand-new season of Brain Games by National Geographic Channel (NGC), host Jason Silva explores the science behind the many-splendored brain.
First, hidden camera social experiments are shown in an episode, and then scientific experts are brought in to explain the results and uncover truths about the brain. The Emmy-nominated television series lets viewers participate in the games that it has on both the show and on the web so that they can follow along. By taking a look at why we behave the way we do, Brain Games shows us helpful ways to understand and make the most of our brains in our everyday lives.
In one episode, NGC tackles the two halves of the brain to see how each side operates and what they really control. The episode then puts viewers through a series of games and experiments to see whether the left brain is truly the center of logic and the right brain is indeed the center of creativity. Not only are viewers tested on their creativity and logic through optical illusions, but their rhyming abilities are also assessed. Are you interested in finding out more about yourself? Then tune in to NGC this month and check out Brain Games to see whether you are a left-brain or a right-brain thinker.
